What is the difference between a CNA and GNA?
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
A CNA is a person who has completed an approved nursing assistant program and has been certified as nursing assistant by the lath of nursing. The CNA doesn't accept to take the state test.

The Certified Nursing Assistant / Geriatric Nursing Banana Programs consist of iii parts. First is the mandatory orientation session (gratis) where you will learn most the programs, take a math and reading test, and learn almost the prerequisites for the programme. The second part of the program is the Classroom session where yous volition have classes, participate in discussions, and have the opportunity for easily-on exercise. The third part of the program is the clinical where students will take an opportunity to piece of work with real patients under the supervision of an RN. This program is offered iii times a year in the Autumn, Leap, and the Summertime.
I. Certified Nursing Banana Orientation Session
Prior to registering for the CNA Program, you MUST ATTEND the Complimentary orientation session. Students will take a math and reading examination, which takes almost 1.5 hours. They must laissez passer the outset test with an eighty% or amend. Those who exercise non pass the get-go exam will take an opportunity to take the exams ii more times. Students passing both exams will be issued a signed registration course, which they must have in person to Client Service in order to register for the program. The respective CNA Classroom and CNA Clinical MUST be taken together, no substitutions. All payments for CNA Classroom and CNA Clinical and additional fees are due at time of registration. Prerequisites: Y'all must be at to the lowest degree eighteen years quondam and have a Social Security Number or Taxation Identification Number for the Maryland Lath of Nursing licensing process upon successful completion of the program. All nursing facilities require criminal background checks prior to being on their bounds for educational purposes. Y'all must obtain a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification (BLS) before the midterm exam; Proof of Immunity through immunizations and blood work, a negative TB skin test (PPD) or chest 10-ray is REQUIRED by the finish of the first week of class.
Additional Fees: There volition be additional fees for Proof of Amnesty, TB tests, BLS grooming, CNA application, GNA awarding, fingerprinting, and uniforms. Costs will be discussed at orientation.
II. Certified Nursing Assistant Classroom

CNA Clinical provides an opportunity for students to work under the guidance of an RN to intendance for patients using the knowledge they accept learned in the classroom.
